PENGARUH PEMBERIAN BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION TRAINING TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KEKUATAN OTOT QUADRICEPS PADA PENDERITA OSTEOARTRITIS LUTUT

Latihan penguatan sangat penting bagi penderita osteoartritis lutut untuk mengembalikan kekuatan otot quadriceps. Perlu latihan dengan beban berat untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot. Namun penderita osteoartritis lutut sering mengeluhkan nyeri saat menjalani latihan dengan beban berat. Maka itu perlu metode latihan alternatif untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot quadriceps pada penderita osteoartritis lutut. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian blood flow restriction training dan low load resistance training dalam meningkatkan kekutan otot quadriceps pada penderita osteoartritis lutut. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode two groups pre & post test. Kelompok I mendapat intervensi berupa blood flow restriction training dan low load resistance training, sedangkan kelompok II mendapatkan intervensi berupa low load resistance training saja 3x/minggu selama 4 minggu. Pengukuran kekuatan otot quadriceps dilakukan dengan memprediksi nilai 1-RM menggunakan rumus epley. Hasil: Dari 20 subjek penelitian, 18 subjek dapat mengikuti program penelitian hingga akhir. Kelompok I berjumlah 9 orang dan kelompok II berjumlah 9 orang. Kesimpulan: Pemberian blood flow restriction training dan low load resistance training sama-sama meningkatkan kekuatan otot quadriceps, namun penambahan blood flow restriction training dalam low load resistance training tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot quadriceps
